Seathwaite Tarn Wild Camp

This was very much a walk of two halves, a leisurely day walking up beautiful Dunnerdale to Seathwaite Tarn, followed by a tough day crossing the fells to Coniston in at times quite harsh conditions. More details at https://wildaboutwalking.wordpress.com/lake-district/seathwaite-tarn-wild-camp/

  1. Enjoyable read Richard, I like the idea of a night on the hill but I think it would have to be warm and dry first for me to give it a go. I’ve lost a glove in the past and now whenever I take anything out, especially in strong wind I’m paranoid about keeping an iron grip on it.

  2. Thanks Jim. A multiday walk that includes wild camping on the hill really does give the full mountain experience as far as I am concerned, but it is not for everyone, especially in the depths of winter, when you can be confined to a sleeping bag for 15 hours! But it is so much easier during good weather in the summer.
